MY WORK
There are many life coaches, mentors, motivators etc that will tell you about all the things you can learn from Olympic Athletes and /or successful Entrepreneurs. Mostly things they have read in books or watched on TV.
While I have been very fortunate to have had the hands on up close and personal experience of working with people living on the edge.
Imagine working hard as a professional athlete day after day - 7 days a week for 4 years focussed on nothing but winning an Olympic Gold Medal and then on the day it doesn't go your way and you miss on a medal by a millimetre!!!
How do you pick yourself up, dust yourself off and do it all over again?
Technolgy
In the 70s and 80s as an IT Analyst/Programmer developed leading edge business application software at Chrysler and Mitsubishi Motors on large IBM Mainframe computers.
At one of the Software Industry's original startups worked in a team which developed a payroll system for major Australian business.
As product manager assisted in selling this system - Austpay - featuring some very unique Aust IP to US Multinational Software company McCormack and Dodge - a Dun and Bradstreet company.
In the 90s after several years as Asia Pacific Product manger returned to Neller to drive the reinvention of the product range as Marketing Director.
Sports
After several years as a part time "amateur" Track and Field coach and a pioneer in Fitness training for AFL Clubs started a sports and celebrity marketing business. During this time became "full time" coach of an athlete who won Gold at the 1998 Commonwealth Games and ranked in the world's Top 8 in the Decathlon.
Mentored and managed several sports people who won medals (inc Gold) in Olympics and World Championships.
Also managed arguably one of the AFL's greatest ever players and guided the careers of numerous sports and media people.
At the Sydney Olympics worked for SOCOG for several months planning and delivering the presenation of events at the Main Stadium.... and pioneered a presentation format now used world wide.
Marketing and Media
In early 2000s launched a PR/Media/Marketing business focussing on the use of the new and emerging forms of Digital Media.
With business partner and daughter Nikki wrote an eBook - The Grumpy Old Mangers Guide to Digital Media. This book aimed to inform senior execs and business owners about the benefits of using Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter etc in 2006/7.
Ran a campaign for a client that was one of the first to tie TV Advertising with the Internet - With a simple and repetitive message - Go to The Website. This campaign resulted in a 400% growth in business for the client over 12 months. Using Google Analytics etc to measure monitor and tweak the campaign on an hourly basis to ensure maximum impacteffectiveness.
Business Development
Created Innovation In the City to connect People who vote, consume and invest with Innovators and Entrepreneurs.
Launched Hi Sports and eNova Digital with my business partner and daughter to build brands for Sports Stars and Health focussed businesses.
CoFounded SeeGlobalMedia (Singapore) with business partners in Melbourne, Singapore and London to help brands, businesses and agencies develop markets in China
CoFounded A BlockChain Factory to help businesses capitalise on this emerging highly disruptive Technology
Speaking/Lecturing
Have been a Keynote speaker at conference and events internationally on a wide variety of topics - inc Technology, Branding, Marketing and Sales.
Delivered an elective course at Carnegie Mellon University Australia - Enterprise and Innovation
Mentoring
Worked with Startups at various stages in Incubator programs at
Flinders Uni - New Ventures Institute
Adelaide Uni - ThincLab
and with the French Australia 24 Challenge which brings together 64 PhD candidtates from around the country.
In 24 hourse working non stop they have to find a problem worth solving, come up with a solution and create a business
At the end of 24 hours they have to pitch their business to a group of highly experience business executives!
Collaboration
My goal is to help all of my clients reach their desired outcome by analysing each scenario from a variety of angles and perspectives.
Quite often looking at ways to Collaborate with others can be a crucial factor in establishing a stronger offering for the future.
This can include collaborating with similar businesses in other cities states or countries. Or it could include collaborating with Startupo businesses working on projects that could support Innovation with the business.

Working with Olympic Athletes who have to learn to thrive on pressure and Startup businesses who have to learn who to grow a business fuelled by passion and limited resources I have learned many valuable lessons.
One to Two hours inside or outside business hours one on one with business leaders I leverage these lessons to maximum benefit.
My aim is to provide maximum value in the minimum amount of time to ensure your business grows into the future.
